Celebrating International Nurses Day

12 May 2020

The wonderful nurses at Sydney Children’s Hospital, Randwick bring a touch of magic of to the wards. They’re the reason behind sick kids' smiles and high-pitched giggles. So today, on International Nurses Day, we thanked them with the help of our amazing community partners.

Not only is 12 May International Nurses Day, but 2020 is also the International Year of the Nurse- and what a start it’s been! Their bubbly personalities, uplifting energy and genuine care for sick kids has been vital in supporting sick kids and their young families through this difficult time.

To thank the nurses for their resilience and strength, our amazing team of community supporters have united and provided a delicious feast of freshly-baked goodies and yummy burritos. The amazing combined efforts of Bronte Bakery, Foundation Theatres, Mad Mex Randwick, Remedy drinks, Mama Kaz and Menulog left all the nurses with full tummies for the remainder of their shifts!

A special mention to Menulog who donated 4,000 $30 gift vouchers to nurses across the Sydney Children’s Hospital Network. Worth a staggering $120,000, their generous gift means all the hard-working nurses can treat themselves to a comfy night in with their favourite takeaway.

A big thank you to all our donors and, most importantly, to nurses across the world who continue to brave the unknown to help us all! Your bravery and dedication to sick kids will always be remembered, especially in 2020.
