Summer Art Exhibitions 2019
5 December – 21 February
This will be the final rotation of the exhibitions for 2019. Five incredible displays fill the corridors of the Hospital from 5 December 2019 until 21 February 2020.
The Art Program uses the visual arts in all forms to transform Sydney Children's Hospital, Randwick into a place of wonder and respite, creating dialogues between artists and patients. Through the Collection and Exhibition Program, the Art Program also provides opportunities for emerging artists to showcase their talents.

In Our Hearts and Minds
“In Our Hearts and Minds” is an exhibition created by the Ngala Nanga Mai pARenT Group Program - a participatory arts in health program which uses art as a tool to facilitate access to health, educational services and support for young Aboriginal parents and their children in the La Perouse area. The exhibition will feature a collection of paintings on canvas produced by the group members, exploring their connection to place, family and culture.
BOTANI-COLOUR is a vibrant exploration of Australian Botanicals by Kate Grebert. Kate has spent the past year studying Australian native plants with detailed ink drawings. BOTANI-COLOUR builds on these studies, creating a colourful, joyful and modern interpretation of Australian Flora.
"I Am Happy When..."
A collection of digital artworks produced collaboratively by Mary Sunarho and her 11-year-old son, Jonathan, who has a diagnosis of autism. Together they use art as a way to develop a meaningful connection with each other. Jonathan often draws inspiration from their daily life, from his favourite things to family holidays or how he’s feeling. "I Am Happy When..." is a represents the joyful memories the share as they find new ways of living a life in the midst of challenges.
Kids for Kids
An array of artworks created by student from Randwick Public School. Using different techniques and media, their pieces draw on observations from imagined and natural worlds. The collection strives to connect with viewers, especially the kids, and make a positive difference to people’s experience of hospital.
Little Sydney Lives
Little Sydney Lives is the City of Sydney’s annual children’s photography competition. Cheeky, delightful and often surprising, their images provide insight into the lives and imaginations of our junior go-getters.
