Meet AUSTRALIA'S Youngest Halo Hero

It’s sometimes difficult to imagine the thousands of sick kids you’re helping when you donate. Knowing your hard-earned dollars are making a real difference, is so important. Especially now, when your budget may be tighter.

Every donation, big or small, is one step closer to a brighter future for sick kids like Kiveyn. Together, with your help, we can continue supporting their needs now and in the future.

Over the last 38 years, our donor’s incredible generosity has left a lasting footprint on the Hospital’s wards. Our recent installation of an EOS Imaging Suite is no exception and will benefit thousands of sick kids for many years to come.

For three-year-old Kiveyn, his future is looking extra bright with access to this type of cutting-edge technology. As the youngest child in Australia to be fitted with a halo-gravity device, this special X-ray room is super spacious and will no-doubt fit his new set of wheels.

Whilst his bubbly personality and cheeky grin would light up any room, life has been far from easy for the little boy. His unforgettable smile masks years of pain.

Born with serious curvature of the spine, Kiveyn has spent the majority of his life in a cast.

One after the other, since he was only four months old.

In mid-2019, seven casts later, Kiveyn was fitted with a halo. This incredible apparatus will help straighten his spine with some traction. But for Kiveyn, his new set of wheels mean so much more.

He now has the freedom to groove, to ride his beloved tricycle and now, most importantly, is home with his family.

Although Kiveyn still has a long journey ahead of him, his future looks extra promising, thanks to donors like you!

By sharing stories like Kiveyn, the power of your donation is clear. It’s our vision to give all sick kids access to the same state-of-the-art technology and world-class medical care. But now, more than ever before, we need you.
